As reported earlier, on October 6th 2017, Miramichi Police received a report of a 15-year-old male in Chatham, Miramichi, N.B. who had been shot.
Both Miramichi Police Force and ambulance were at the scene where the victim was then taken to the local Miramichi Regional Hospital where then he had surgery, and is now recovering.
A 17-year-old male and female were arrested at the scene. The female was released.
Police did confirmed that the 17-year-old male had appeared in court in relation to the incident on the weekend.
The 17-year-old was due back in court today (Tuesday Oct. 10th, 2017). Currently, the youth is charged with breaching an undertaking to not use alcohol or drugs. Judge Geri Mahoney, released the youth on conditions, after hearing several testimonies.
Some of the conditions include, must not have any firearms in possession, must not have visitors under the age of 24-years-old, no possession or use of drugs/alcohol. (there are several others)
The 17-year-old male has to return to court on October 20th.
