Halloween trick or treating was over last night but remains a conversation over most of the Maritimes after reports of foreign objects were found in candy bars in Bathurst and Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Both the Bathurst and Fredericton Police made the public aware of the reports and advised parents to check their children’s candy before letting them eat any.
After the reports were released many were skeptical if the reports were real or made out of attention seeking. Some people even took it as far to make jokes in the comments of photos of those who have taken to social media to warn others.
It is safe to say in these situations it is always better to be safe and make sure you are checking your children’s candy thoroughly before allowing them to eat any. Even if the wrapping does not appear to be tampered with, it is still a safety precaution to check the candy regardless of the condition of the packaging.
