Woman dead after ATV crash near St. George, N.B.

On November 21, 2017 around 9:30AM the St. George RCMP detachment responded to a call of two people who were involved in an ATV crash.

The crash took place on Murray Lane in Mascarene, both the driver who was is a 90-year-old male and passenger 85-year-old woman were taken to the local Saint John Hospital, and the woman dead as a result of her injuries.

According to the RCMP the driver lost control of the ATV on a gravel road and caused the ATV to roll over. Both the driver and passenger were not wearing helmets.

The identity of the woman has not been released.

They are continuing their investigation into the crash.

RCMP Statement:

An 85-year-old woman is dead following an ATV crash in Mascarene, approximately ten kilometres southwest of St. George, N.B.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on November 21, 2017, St. George RCMP responded to a report of two people injured in an ATV crash on Murray Lane in Mascarene. The 90-year-old driver of the ATV had lost control on a gravel road, causing the ATV to roll over. Neither the driver nor his passenger were wearing helmets.

The man and woman were taken to Saint John Regional Hospital for treatment. The passenger died from her injuries on November 22, 2017. The driver remains in hospital.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
